Birthday Weekend.

Well, we are back into the swings of things here in Kentucky! It was a nice quiet weekend after the craziness of our trip home.  My birthday was uneventful.  However, Bubba did surprise me with a little gift under my pillow.  So very thoughtful....

Who doesn't want to find this under her pillow?

My Aunt Sandi called from Saskatchewan to wish me a happy birthday, as well as my friend Sue.  On Saturday I hit E-town for a little birthday retail therapy....always a pleasure and on Sunday it was more chilling with Bubba along with some laundry.  I decided to get adventurous and make myself a quiche for dinner.  You wouldn't think it would be that easy to screw up....well apparently I am here to prove you wrong.  It was either the fact I used non-fat half and half instead of full strength...or that I substituted the zucchini with green pepper....or the length of baking time was originally incorrect. The 30 minutes it states turned out to be about an hour...and then I don't think I completely baked the little devil enough...I haven't tried it yet. Below is what it looks like.  I don't think it looks right.

So deciding that this was a bit of a failure I made something a little safer.

Salad with Buffalo chicken fingers....

...and a little vino that my neighbour gave me.
