Last week I finally broke down and headed to the clinic for my sinus issues. After another evening cradling my head while in the fetal position I thought it was time. The nausea and dizziness were small contributing factors!! Going to the clinic here is a much nicer experience than Canada. No long lines, carpet, nice chairs. They even check your temperature and blood pressure....just because. Yes, there is a $50.00 co-pay required right up front and that is unpleasant. That comes off the rest of the bill they send you in the mail. So, all in all it cost me $96.00. The drugs were more expensive!! I should have finished them all yesterday, but taking a pill every 8 hours seems to be too difficult for me!
On the weekend Tina and I went shopping at the outlet mall in Indiana. Coach was having a great sale...so very pretty. We hit another Sip and Strokes class in Louisville after that. Our painting this time was" Bourbon Bottle"s. I thought it a fitting souvenir for my trip here!

Finished product!
Sunday was more of a relaxing day, although the weather was not so hot. I did make a trip to Michael's in E-town to check out a big sale. Picked up a few decorations for the apartment.
At lunch on Monday a very enthusiastic man stopped me walking Bubba, as he was driving by. He wanted to talk about Bubba of course. He told me he has a figurine of a basset hound at home that looks just like him and that everytime he sees me walking Bubba he thinks about that figurine and how cute it is! Then he thought I should have the figurine since it looks so much like Bubba. He will try very hard to remember to put it in his car so when he sees me walking again he will be able to give it to me. He then told me his name was Dewitt and asked where I lived. I pointed in the opposite direction of my apartment and that it was nice meeting him, but I had to get back to work. Luckily a car pulled up behind him and he had to move along....
My boss from Canada was down this week to talk to me about my "transition" back into Blenheim. I am confused as to why a "transition" is necessary, but what do I know? So Amir, Tina and I took Todd for dinner in Louisville on Tuesday. I made reservations at the Maker's Mark Grill for 8:00. It is part of "Fourth Street Live" downtown. This road is blocked off from traffic and has a bunch of restaurants and bars. At around 10pm little bars open up out on the street and you can grab a drink as you wonder around. We were there early so we stopped at an Irish pub for some beer first. Two beers and a couple of appetizers later we finally made our way to Maker's Mark.
The restaurant wasn't too busy, so we didn't have to worry so much that we missed our reservation time. I headed to the bathroom when I first got there and came back to a nice bourbon on the rocks when I got back. That was the first of two, plus some really good red wine. Our second bourbon was this special "found" batch of bourbon. Jefferson Reserve Small Batch. The waiter says that there is only supposed to be a certain amount of bottles ever made of this bourbon. It was found behind a wall that was being torn down in this old distillery....blah blah blah...something like that. I had trouble focusing at that point. I ordered dessert hoping it would sop up some of the alcohol I had, but it didn't help. I think it was only around 11:30 when we left and I wasn't sure I was going to make it. That bourbon was good...and expensive.....but it hit me like a freight train. Amir and Todd wanted to continue on, but I was done. I just prayed I would make it home before puking on someone or worse puking in Amir's car. Tina and I slept most of the way home. I hate having to walk a dog when all you want to do is fall into bed, clothes and all. I didn't have the spins and I fell asleep right away. (fell asleep...passed out...let's not split hairs) I woke up a couple of hours later not feeling so hot and it took a while to get back to sleep. I was a little late getting to work the next day. I left my cell phone in my purse in the kitchen and that is what I use as an alarm clock. I had to work late that date for inventory so I didn't feel too bad about it.
The next night was dinner out in Bardstown. We went to the Bourbon Bistro. Just Todd, Amir and I. We were there late because the inventory ran long. We had the place to ourselves and the undivided attention of the owner. He was very "friendly". He asked me lots of questions....not the other two so much....and he found out my name and used it often. The other two... not so much. I did find out he is "kin" to Booker Noe, the Jim Beam Ambassador and descendant to the Jim Beam legacy.
The rest of the week has been quiet... so far. The only thing planned for this weekend is a Christmas show at the Expo center in Louisville. I also hear it is going to be really cold here. It has been a cold week. There has been frost to scrape off the car two days this week. I lost my remote start and key less entry key fob a while back and I couldn't get in the car with just the key. My new friend is Onstar, as I had to call them twice to unlock my car. I have priced out a new remote start and it won't be cheap. I might do a little searching this weekend and hope I get lucky!!
